Earlier today I took a quick break in what is always my most hectic day here at work (Wednesdays) to step next door, into what has to be the area’s largest used-book store. I thought I’d take a look at the mystery/hardbound section.
Yikes! This joint wants more for these books than I could buy them for today new from Amazon! Like, up to $30. I don't know where they get their pricing, but it isn't anywhere near a place called reality.
So, I don’t think so. Not when I can download every title there onto my Kindle for $10. I’ve been resisting doing this because I love the feel of a real book, but I’m faced with two compelling realities: I’m out of room in which to store books; and storing them on the Kindle is just so much less expensive.
So I guess it’s time to stop worrying about acquiring more hardcovers and learn to love technology.
